The Unloved Soul

Tender, are the lips not kissed

She shies away, yet not for modesty,

Her fears are scars which run so deep.

It leaves her in a fearful grip.

The battle, she fights on.

Hope the only food she needs.

It fills her with relief.

Her broken heart still brims with love.

When she gives herself two becomes one

She nurtures the bond,

She gives her heart and soul to trust.

Blindly missing signs

Signs that others see so clearly.

She yearns to feel that love.

To live a solitary life

Was the only way to avoid betrayal?

Sweet is the unloved soul.

Tears the mark of her deepest pain.
